Veggie Bread Pakora

Veggie bread pakora is a traditional snack recipe which is prepared in north indian household for breakfast and brunch . This is an easy and quick method as no stuffing is made for veggie bread pakora.It’s a hot favourite snack during the monsoons, there’s nothing like a cup of hot chai with freshly made hot veggie bread pakoras.

Ingredients –

  • Bread slices – 4
  • Besan – 1 cup
  • Grated carrot – 1/2 cup
  • Chopped onion – 1/2 cup
  • Green chilli – 2 to 3
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Grinded peas – 1/2 cup
  • Asafoetida (hing ) – a small pinch
  • Chopped corainder leaves
  • Water as per required

Directions –

  • Take a bowl add besan and mix all the ingredients .
  • Now add water slowly slowly to make a batter.
  • Heat oil in pan on medium heat.
  • To check if the oil is ready,put one drop of batter in the oil.
  • Cut the bread slices into two parts and dip the bread slices in the batter and slowly drop into the pan .
  • Turn them occasionally .
  • Fry the pakoras until both sides turns golden brown and remove it in a kitchen towel. Repeat this process.
  • Veggie bread pakoras are ready to serve .
  • Serve hot with green chutney and sauce.

Tips

  • Consistency of the batter should neither be too thick or too thin .
  • Fry the veggie bread pakora on medium heat .
  • You can add veggies of your choice .
